My Heart Belongs To The Sea

My heart belongs to the sea,

Aching to be one with the ocean.

Memories bubble and foam in pools,

Swirling and spiralling along the shore –

Recollections of a life I once lived;

The daughter of some ancient goddess

Of the waves – do I hear her calling me?

Her sweet silver song is pulling me back

Under the roaring, frothing blankets of water,

Beckoning me to succumb and surrender

To her voice of pearls.

The currents are harmonising, a choir

Of crashing symphonies begging me

To return home.
