POETRY

Medusa

Her eyes glint with a deep jewel green hue

By her gaze you are utterly consumed

She drinks you in and you become see-through

Just one look and anyone would be doomed

It feels like hell but your blood freezes fast

The one thing we cannot escape is fate

The agony, the screaming, does not last

For you, a new existence shall soon wait

We live as monuments to fearsome death

We lost victims cannot tell the tale

The beautiful maiden who stole our breath

Keeps a tight grip on the devil’s veil

Here we stand to warn all those who seek her

You may come face to face with the reaper.
